PRAYER

Ashford Town Parish is committed to praying with and for one another across our parish and town

Some suggestions are offered below for things we might focus on in praying with and for one another across this parish this month. They could be drawn on by those who lead intercessions in main services as well as by individuals and groups as we pray through the week.

Week Commencing 5th April 2021:
May the Holy Spirit inspire and empower us to be God’s hands and feet within this parish as we prayerfully consider how best to serve our neighbours in need and share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

For those in our congregations who may be struggling to feel joy this Easter, that they would know Christ’s presence with them.

Week Commencing 12th April 2021:
Prayers for patience and good humour as ministers, musicians and congregations continue to use technology in ways that may be new to them, as we seek to serve both those who gather in our buildings for worship and those who participate online.

As couples who have delayed their weddings begin to make new plans, we pray God’s blessing on them and their preparations. We especially pray they will engage with the parish Marriage Masala marriage preparation course.

Week Commencing 19th April 2021:
We give thanks for the generous food donations which have allowed the Christ Church and Willesborough food bank to continue during the pandemic.

Prayers for our local residential care homes as some guests receive their first visit in a year.

We pray for wisdom in leadership meetings at the parish and local area level, as together we discern the way forward in times of uncertainty and change, including the PCC meeting on Thursday.

Week Commencing 26th April 2021:
As we see welcome signs of Spring we pray for new opportunities to reconnect with the Eco Church project in partnership with schools and the wider community.

Following on from a successful Lent course we ask you Lord to shape us into the church you want to serve the people of Ashford.
