PRAYER

Ashford Town Parish is committed to praying with and for one another across our parish and town

Some suggestions are offered below for things we might focus on in praying with and for one another across this parish this month. They could be drawn on by those who lead intercessions in main services as well as by individuals and groups as we pray through the week.

A prayer for our participation in Mission Action Planning
Jesus Christ, we long to be fruitful in your service. Stir up in us good desires, and show us what you long to see for your church here in Ashford and how we can contribute to that. Send your Holy Spirit upon us, into our hearts and into our midst, to lead us and guide us, that God may be glorified in this place. Amen.

W/C 12th July
• Pray for the Revd Geoff Abasolo-Munnery as he begins his ministry as a priest in Ashford Town Parish, and for the whole family on the next part of their Christian journey.
• We give thanks for all who seek to care for your creation by working for the conservation of the environment. May the people of Ashford Town Parish play their part to bring justice and fair trade to all peoples and nations.

W/C 19th July
• Prayers for everyone who lives or works in our parish as people respond to government decisions about the easing of restrictions to contain the spread of Covid-19.
• Pray for Revd Eve Lanchantin-Piggott and Michael Piggott now they have left Kennington and move to a new home and new Christian community. We give thanks for all that Eve was able to share with the parish during her time at St Mary’s Ashford and Kennington.
• As we pray for our daily needs we remember those who suffer from poverty, lack of food, or homelessness in our community. We especially remember the work of Christians Against Poverty (CAP) who help those who are caught in the spiral of debt. Give us the courage to serve and share in the love that you have for all people. Amen.

W/C 26th July
• Loving God, we ask your blessing and guidance on all who work for the local council; those who hold positions of authority and influence the lives of others in Ashford. We pray for all who give themselves in the service of the community in which we live.
• We pray for the new Parish Office Hub that has opened in the Town Centre. We give thanks for our administration team for all they do for the parish.
